Shorty Thompson: U.S. Marshal: Ma'am I'll Kill You As Quick As I Did Him: A Western Adventure Novel (Shorty Thompson: U.S. Marshal: Tales of the Old West Book 117)

Paul L. Thompson
4.38/5 (591 ratings)
The fourth of July celebration was in full swing in Las Vegas New Mexico. People lined the street with flags and horns. Horsemen and women rode prancing horses and the school band played God Bless America. Small kids blew horns, clapped, hollered, ran and played.
Bobby Ray and Bobbye Fay Kimball, identical twins were having the most fun. All these folks came just to celebrate their birthday. They were running and playing. A woman of forty or so stopped them. “How would you two lovely children like a pretty puppy.”
“For our birthday! Oh yes!”
“Come with me.” They walked between buildings and she said, “Hop in the back of the wagon and there it is. Here, I’ll help you.”
Rough hands grabbed them and hands went over mouths. “Don’t bruise them you idiots!” The flap was closed. She jumped in beside the driver. “Leroy, move! We have miles to go before sundown.”
