The End of Me in a Diary

Morlai Kamara
4.36/5 (22 ratings)
“On the 21st of December, in exactly three months, the world is going to come to an end.”
This phrase echoes in the head of West, a delusional seventeen year old boy. Due to a traumatic event in his past, he carries the burden of complete disdain for human interactions, leading to his complete social alienation. With the end seemingly approaching, he sees no point in finding friends, nor dreams, despite his mother’s hopeless pleas. Aimlessly roaming through life without purpose, loneliness and boredom inevitably seep within and the wish for the end grows stronger every moment. With nothing left to do, he decides to write a diary—a last testament, proof of his meagre existence. Little does he know that life doesn’t always go as planned, and little by little, things begin to change… when certain people decide to enter his life, including a doomsday cult that manifests his delusion into reality. Influencing him for better or worse, he starts to fear that maybe, just maybe, he might need them by his side, when it all comes crashing down.
