Moments of Truth (Town of Garrison #4)

Marcella DiPaolo
4.46/5 (169 ratings)
Sloan Jackson had always wanted to be a U.S. Marshall when he grew up and maybe a deputy in Garrison someday. His father understood that he didn’t want to follow in his footsteps and be a rancher. It didn’t mean that he didn’t want to help out his father as he was growing up. Sloan loved Garrison and the people around it. Slater was his younger brother and it seemed that he was always being sent to get him out of trouble. At least most of them, some of Slater’s friends got on his nerves.

The trouble usually ended up involving a pint-sized red-head named Maura. Maura was younger than any of Slater and his friend, but they all jumped to do what she told them to do anyway. Sloan asked him, why? But Slater told him that Maura was smarter than all of them put together and always had the greatest ideas. Sloan met the red-haired youngster and had to grin, she sure knew how to make those boys jump.

Sloan was gone for ten years and was hired to be the new deputy in Garrison. On the train back home, he meets a beautiful red-haired lawyer. It turns out that Maura is all grown up and the new prosecutor in town. She certainly throws Sloan for a loop. He knows he’s much too old for her, but finds himself drawn to her like he’s never been drawn to another woman before. And then an old enemy of Garrison comes back to settle an old score. Sloan has to protect Maura and all of Garrison from them. But will he be able to protect himself from Maura?
