My name is Jill Jacobson, and this book is about me. I’m getting old now, ready to sit back and slow down a little. I was a young woman when I began chasing terrorists around the world, and it has worn me thin (though I have put on a few pounds, ha). I walk slower, rarely jog and never run, and I wear glasses; but so far my mind remains faithful.
My three older brothers and father were all in the Army, and it was natural for me to want to join when I turned eighteen. My mother was shocked, but why? She should have realized that the deer hunting weekends with dad and my brothers, along with listening to their war stories around the campfire, would entice me to follow in their footsteps. She finally warmed up, but it took quite a while. Dad had to come around first, then he managed to set her heart at ease, at least enough to give me her blessing. My brothers came around instantly. They were crazy with enthusiasm when they found out that their “scrawny little sister” was going to be a soldier.
It has been a real trip, and this book is about how my story started—my first mission. Each book that follows details another mission that I was assigned to. I’ve lost track of how many there were, but some of the more notable ones were for the FBI, Secret Service, NASA, and NSA. So, if you enjoy this book, keep a look out for others that will follow.
If you don’t mind, I would leave you with one thought: no matter how bad the situation becomes, never, ever, give up. Someday your life may depend on it, I know mine did.
I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed living it,
