তাজউদ্দীন আহমদ : নেতা ও পিতা

Sharmin Ahmad
4.14/5 (164 ratings)
"In fact, it is sheer disrespect to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Tajuddin Ahmad who never gave up their principles to the lure of power," he said. He said this at a book launching ceremony at the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh in capital. Tajuddin's daughter Sharmin Ahmad wrote the book titled "Tajuddin Neta o Pita", which is based on liberation and post-liberation history. "Those who worked against the birth of Bangladesh were defeated in 1971. They created distance between Bangabandhu and Tajuddin after the independence, and finally won in 1975 by killing the duo", said Prof Emeritus Anisuzzaman. Regarding the book, he said the writer had tried to bring the fact as much as possible, which might not be liked by many. Sharmin said, "No nation experiences as much blood as Bangladesh does. Similarly, no nation sees as much distortion of its history of birth as Bangladesh does." Tajuddin is hardly remembered now, though he had a great contribution to the country's Liberation War in 1971, she lamented. Tajuddin Ahmad, the first prime minister of Bangladesh's first government in exile, was murdered along with three of his political fellow travellers in the darkness of incarceration on November 3, 1975.
