We all have that one job we hate, and mine is working with this stubborn, self-righteous, crabby (albeit easy-on-the-eyes and surprisingly protective) cowboy.
I put out “fires” for my dad. Currently, that means smoothing over a lawsuit including one surly cowboy thinks he’s judge, jury, and executioner.
Unfortunately for me, that means I have to work with him.
We're a dream ‘City Business Girl’ and ‘Country Grumpy Cowboy’.
I mean, this guy is a walking cliché. Who knew they still made cowboys this old-school?
Lucky for me, I’ll just settle the suit, sell off the land to the highest bidder, and my job is done.
Unlucky for me, my dad is a double-dealing, dirty businessman and pulls shady moves behind my back.
Now it’s me and the cowboy against everyone else.
And he doesn’t let anyone tell him what to do.
In fact, he doesn’t let anyone tell me what to do either.
Maybe working together won’t be so bad.
We’re up against some powerful people, so keeping levelheaded is vital.
Problem is, the more we get to know one another, the more professional lines seem to blur.
He's introducing me to a way of life I've never seen before.
And as I learn about his values, I’m beginning to understand the strength of my own.
But as I uncover my true potential and stand up to my dad, I wonder if we can really win this fight—and what will we have to sacrifice to do it?
