Soon after choosing a house to use as a home base while they’re stranded, the two P.I.s find the old time sheriff’s handwritten records. While the notes start out with petty crimes, the records quickly become filled with murder and personal references about the sheriff’s life. Sheriff Croft is also the town barber, and not cut out to solve murders. There’s one more mystery to solve. Many of the people of Wolf Creek left town in such a hurry that they left their personal belongings behind. Why?

As a P.I., Sandi wants to see if she can solve the old murders, while Pete’s main goal is to have a faceoff with the cowboy who sabotaged his Jeep, effectively stranding them in Wolf Creek. Hopefully they’ll both be able to meet their goals.
